Kia Outlines 2030 Plan: 1M EVs, 1.1m Hybrids and U.S. Body-On-Frame Truck

Kia announced at its CEO Investor Day in Seoul that it aims to reach 4.13 million global vehicle sales by 2030, including 1 million EVs and 1.1 million hybrids.

Kia said the United States will be a core market, targeting 1.02 million sales and a 6.2 percent market share by 2030, and reiterated plans for a mid-size body-on-frame pickup with hybrid and range‑extended gas‑electric (EREV) variants.

Automotive News reported Kia may also offer a fully electric truck powertrain, though Kia's press release mentioned only HEV and EREV and translation could be a factor. Automotive News added Kia aims for 90,000 U.S. truck sales and 7 percent of the mid‑size pickup segment by 2034.

Kia plans to expand its U.S. hybrid lineup from four to eight models and discussed a hybrid K4, while targeting higher SUV volumes—Sportage above 200,000 units, Telluride capacity to 180,000, and second‑generation Seltos to 100,000 annual U.S. sales.
