Kia reported first-quarter 2026 sales rose 4.1% year over year to 207,015 vehicles, up from 198,850 in the same period of 2025.
The Sportage was Kia’s best-selling model with sales up 8.2% to 44,704 units, while the K4 sold 37,220 units compared with 35,928 Telluride SUVs, both posting year-over-year gains.
Electric models EV6 and EV9 saw sales fall 46.5% and 27.1% respectively after the U.S. government discontinued subsidies, and the Sorento declined 14.4% to 21,510 units while the Soul fell 70.8% as production ended after the 2025 model year.
Kia said hybrid sales increased 73%, contributing to the quarterly gain, but March sales were down by roughly 2,000 units year over year.
