Kia Recalls 568 Telluride Hybrids, Suspends Sales of Top Trims Over Faulty Power Seats

Kia is recalling 568 2027 Telluride Hybrid SUVs and has stopped sales of SX Prestige and X-Line SX Prestige models with the optional Executive Package because a power second-row seat may not detect obstructions.

The defect mirrors an issue in the Hyundai Palisade that factored into a March 7 fatality in Ohio; Kia says it has received no injury reports for the Telluride Hybrid.

Kia says a remedy for the power-folding seats is in development, sales of affected Telluride Hybrid trims remain paused, and owners will be notified of the remedy program on or before May 19. Until the fix arrives, Kia advises customers to keep children out of the second-row during power-folding operation and to avoid pressing the seat switches.
