Kindred Motorworks will offer an electric conversion of classic Porsche 911 models using its Grayback powertrain, priced from $299,000 for a limited 12-unit production with deliveries starting in the first quarter of 2027.
The Grayback system features a rear-mounted electric motor producing 375 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, a 400-volt architecture with a 62.2-kilowatt-hour battery, a claimed 225-mile range, and a 40/60 weight distribution.
The conversion is available for Porsche 911s built from 1974 to 1989 and each car will undergo a complete restoration; Kindred Motorworks plans to reveal paint and option details in August.
Kindred Motorworks outfits the interior with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, upgraded HVAC, heated front seats, a MagSafe charger, Nappa leather and modern controls, and says the package sharpens response and handling while preserving the car’s character.
