Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann told Road & Track that the automaker has ruled out developing a sedan or a small SUV and is instead targeting a two‑door 2+2 grand touring car.
Lamborghini canceled the all‑electric Lanzador four‑seater in February, but Winkelmann said the company is "continuing to work on the EV idea" and wants to be ready when timing is right. He added an electric Lamborghini would not arrive before 2030.
There is no confirmation yet on powertrains; Lamborghini has stated a goal for all models to be plug‑in hybrids by 2030 and Winkelmann has said he wants to keep building internal‑combustion engines "for as long as possible." The Urus remains Lamborghini's best‑selling model, and the company framed a 2+2 grand tourer as the missing link in its lineup.
