Lexus will sell the eighth-generation ES in the UK exclusively as an electric model, with the front-wheel‑drive ES 350e on sale from 1 May priced from £59,345.
The ES 350e uses a single 221bhp motor with a 77kWh lithium‑ion battery, Lexus estimates a range of around 329 miles and a 0–62mph time of 8.2 seconds, though an official WLTP figure is pending. It will be offered in Premium (£59,345), Premium Plus (£68,245) and Takumi (£72,545) trims, the Takumi adding features such as heated, vented and reclining rear seats.
Lexus said the new ES improves ride quality, comfort and quietness over its predecessor and is built on the GA‑K platform. The cabin adopts a minimalist layout with a 12.3in touchscreen and hidden haptic switches, and the car is 165mm longer than before at 5.14m.
Lexus will offer additional powertrains in Western Europe, including a hybrid option and a dual‑motor ES 500e with 338bhp and a 0–62mph time of 5.7 seconds, which may join the UK line‑up later.
