Logan Sargeant Debuts in WEC with Ford Mustang LMGT3, Confirmed for 2027 Hypercar Programme

Logan Sargeant, a former Williams Formula 1 driver, makes his World Endurance Championship debut this weekend at Imola for Proton Competition in the #88 Ford Mustang LMGT3 and is confirmed to join Ford's Hypercar programme from 2027 alongside Sebastian Priaulx and Mike Rockenfeller.

In an exclusive interview with Motorsport.com, Sargeant said he took time off after leaving Williams, tested IndyCar and LMP2 machinery, and raced three IMSA LMP2 events, which he credits with helping secure the Ford contract.

Sargeant said the Mustang LMGT3 is heavier and "very different" to the high-downforce cars he recently drove, calling the GT3 challenge a learning opportunity that is expanding his driving toolbox and prompting a weekend-by-weekend approach.
