Lola Launches 16-Car T70 Continuation with Track and Road-Legal Variants

Lola has announced a 16-car continuation run of its 1960s T70, offering a track-focused T70S and a road-legal T70S GT that recreate the original with modern materials and manufacturing.

Lola says engineers used scans of a Mk3B and archive drawings to recreate the bodywork and replaced original fiberglass with its patent-pending Lola Natural Composite System (LNCS) made from plant fibers, basalt and a sugar-cane–based resin.

The T70S track variant carries an FIA Historic Technical Passport and uses a Chevy 305 5.0‑liter V‑8 rated at 530 horsepower and 425 lb‑ft, routed through a five‑speed Hewland LG600 transaxle for a claimed 0–62 mph time of 2.5 seconds and a 203 mph top speed.

The road-legal T70S GT uses a modern Chevy 6.2‑liter V‑8 with 500 horsepower and 455 lb‑ft paired to a Lola-specific Hewland six‑speed manual, a claimed 0–62 mph time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed about 3 mph lower, while adding Alcantara, headset storage, small luggage space and air conditioning.
