McLaren has appointed Gianpiero Lambiase as chief racing officer to strengthen its trackside engineering and to support team principal Andrea Stella during races and throughout the season.
Gianpiero Lambiase joins from Red Bull, where he held a senior trackside engineering role and drew interest from Aston Martin and Williams; McLaren confirmed he will work alongside former Red Bull colleague Will Courtenay and sporting director Randy Singh.
The hire is intended to allow Andrea Stella to hand off detailed trackside responsibilities and build strength in depth after errors late in the 2025 title battle exposed vulnerabilities. McLaren said the move fits its longer-term leadership planning as it continues the current regulatory period.
