McLaren has committed more than $2 billion to revive the brand and is now a debt-free company following its merger with Forseven, Nick Collins, who led Forseven as CEO, said.
Collins told Autocar the business focused on stabilising foundations, improving warranty by 80% and production quality by more than 60%, while cutting annual output by about 1,000 cars to roughly 2,000 last year.
The integration of Forseven, which had around 700 employees, prompted a reorganisation that saw some departures, including McLaren's then CEO Michael Leiters and chief designer Tobias Sühlmann, both now at Porsche; Collins praised the remaining workforce's technical depth.
Collins said the company has moved to make faster decisions and secure residual values but declined to give a timeline for new product reveals, with detailed expansion plans still to come.
