Mercedes‑Benz has revealed a heavy refresh for the third‑generation GLS SUV, featuring an S‑Class‑inspired interior redesign, new exterior styling and an upgraded petrol straight‑six engine.
The cabin adopts S‑Class elements, adding a pair of 11.2in rear touchscreens, iPhone‑style seat controllers, a Superscreen and an 18in augmented‑reality head‑up display.
Externally, the GLS gains a revised front bumper, grille and headlights, a rear light bar with integrated logo, and exclusive 23in wheels; AMG Line adds an illuminated grille.
The range opens with the 308bhp diesel 350d and tops out with the 530bhp 4.0‑litre V8 580 (0‑62mph in 4.7sec); the updated M256 Evo 3.0‑litre turbo straight‑six on 450‑badged models makes 375bhp, all models use an automatic gearbox and four‑wheel drive, pricing is unannounced but will be above today’s £110,800 and the refreshed GLS goes on sale later this year.
