Mercedes-Benz Refreshes GLS with Star-Pattern Headlights, Stronger Engines and Superscreen

Mercedes-Benz has given the GLS a second mid-cycle refresh for the 2027 model year, updating its exterior design, powertrains, infotainment and vehicle software.

The facelift adds star-pattern headlights, a revised grille and subtler bumper changes, adopting Mercedes-Benz’s design language from the CLA and aligning the GLS with the GLE update.

All-wheel drive is standard. The GLS450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 375 hp and 413 lb-ft and a 0–60 mph time of 5.4 seconds; the GLS580 uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with a flat-plane crank producing 530 hp and 553 lb-ft and a 0–60 mph time of 4.6 seconds, 20 hp and 15 lb-ft more than before.

The cabin gains the MBUX Superscreen linking driver, central and passenger displays and runs Mercedes-Benz’s latest software; Mercedes-Benz said the update includes a "supercomputer" and cloud-based AI that continuously adjusts the air suspension and the latest ADAS, with a City Pro feature arriving via post-launch update.
