Mercedes-Benz Unveils 2027 GLE with 530‑HP V8, Stronger Inline‑Six and PHEV

Mercedes‑Benz revealed the 2027 GLE with updated exterior and interior design and revised powertrains, headlined by a reworked twin‑turbo 4.0‑liter mild‑hybrid V8 in the GLE 580 4Matic.

The GLE 580 4Matic now produces 530 horsepower and 553 lb‑ft of torque, uses a flat‑plane crank with optimized injection and ports, and reaches 60 mph in 4.4 seconds; the GLE 450 4Matic retains 375 hp while torque rises to 413 lb‑ft, with a 0–60 mph time of 5.0 seconds.

The GLE 350 4Matic keeps a 2.0‑liter mild‑hybrid four‑cylinder at 255 hp and 295 lb‑ft with a 0–60 mph time of 6.8 seconds, and the new plug‑in‑hybrid GLE 500e combines the 3.0‑liter inline‑six for 429 hp and 502 lb‑ft and a 5.0‑second sprint to 60 mph; the GLE Coupe is offered as a 450 4Matic with an AMG variant.

Mercedes‑Benz says the GLE features about 3,000 new or revised components, standard 4Matic all‑wheel drive with a new transfer case and low‑range gear, a 130 mph limiter on standard models, and a 7,700‑pound towing capacity.
