Felix Rosenqvist, driving the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Honda, won pole for Sunday’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach with a lap of 1:07.4635. Rosenqvist’s time beat Pato O'Ward by 0.0441 seconds in the adjusted single-car, single-lap Fast Six.
Pato O'Ward qualified second in the No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet with a 1:07.5076, and Alex Palou finished third with a 1:07.5289. Kyle Kirkwood will start fourth, David Malukas fifth, and Scott Dixon sixth.
Qualifying saw David Malukas set an early baseline despite several slides and Alex Palou post a quick lap despite a late lockup into the final hairpin. The format let drivers choose their run order for the Firestone Fast Six based on Segment 2 results.
Will Power missed the Fast Six after being bumped by Scott Dixon by 0.0272 seconds; Scott McLaughlin, Kyffin Simpson, Graham Rahal, Christian Lundgaard and Rinus VeeKay filled the remaining positions outside the top 12.
