MotorTrend fitted its yearlong 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid with Michelin X‑Ice Snow SUV winter tires for heavy winter testing and reports notably improved snow traction and handling.
MotorTrend originally planned to run the Santa Fe’s factory Pirelli Scorpion MS all-season tires but installed the Michelins after Detroit editor Alisa Priddle scheduled drives into heavier snow, with the set mounted before the holidays.
From November 2025 through February the tester’s city recorded 51.4 inches of snow, and MotorTrend says the Michelin X‑Ice Snow SUV tires, priced at $403 each, provided predictable braking, cornering and acceleration during blizzards and long winter trips. MotorTrend also reports the Michelins had minimal impact on steering precision and handling, and the publication continues to evaluate the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid as part of its yearlong test.
