MotoGP to Keep Concessions Into 2027, Start All Manufacturers in Group B

MotoGP will keep its concessions system into 2027, starting all current manufacturers in concessions group B and using a mid-season checkpoint to reassign tiers based on early 2027 race results.

MotoGP's concessions framework, first used in 2014 and reintroduced in 2024 to help Honda, Yamaha, KTM and Aprilia close the gap to Ducati, will continue under the new technical regulations with some nuances.

Manufacturers that do not compete in 2026 will begin 2027 in range D and face a mid-season review, and the concessions counter resets after the Valencia Grand Prix on 29 November so the first post‑Valencia test will already follow the new ranges with all in group B.

Teams may use riders contracted for 2027 at that test but cannot display new factory colours until 1 January, and manufacturers will be restricted to designated test riders—curbing private sessions like Yamaha’s post‑2025 Jerez test; no new manufacturers have yet signed for 2027.
