Nissan Delays Next-Generation Z, Will Roll out Heritage Special Editions

Nissan will delay a next-generation Z and instead introduce heritage-based special editions over the next three years, Ponz Pandikuthira, Nissan America’s senior vice president, chief product and planning officer, told The Drive.

Nissan sold more than 5,000 Z coupes last year, up 73.4 percent, and the company is reducing production to better match the model’s niche demand; sales are expected to dip in 2026 as Nissan launches the 2027 model.

The current-generation Z went on sale in the United States for 2023 and recently received a mid-cycle refresh slated for 2027. Motor1 wrote that the next-generation Z will likely arrive after the next-generation GT-R debuts and speculated it could reach showrooms as a 2032 model.
