The opening Porsche Carrera Cup Japan race at Suzuka was red-flagged after Masa Taga, driver of the No. 84 CREF Motor Sport Porsche, barrel-rolled over a catch fence at the 200R corner.
Jule Kazuki Treluyer, driver of the Bingo Racing No. 9, and Hiro, driver of the NRG No. 16, were battling through turn 10 when the No. 16 faded and contact occurred; Masa Taga then made contact and the No. 84 Porsche caught a lip and spiraled over the fence.
Masa Taga emerged without serious injuries, and the catch fence sustained heavy damage that delayed parade laps before the Japanese Grand Prix by about ten minutes; Porsche Carrera Cup Japan officials red-flagged the session.
