Palou Wins at Barber as Lundgaard’s Long Pit Stop Ends Late Challenge

IndyCar driver Alex Palou won the Barber race, claiming his third Barber victory and his second win of the season after Arrow McLaren driver Christian Lundgaard's lengthy final pit stop deprived Lundgaard of a late challenge.

Palou finished 14 seconds ahead and moved to 22nd on the all-time win list, becoming the first driver with multiple victories through four races; Palou trails driver Kyle Kirkwood in the standings by two points.

Christian Lundgaard said after the race that he believed he had the pace to battle Palou, but his final stop on lap 69 took 17.8 seconds and he also lost time fighting the No. 15 RLL driver, dropping him out of contention.

The No. 15 RLL driver held third despite late pressure from driver David Malukas to record his first podium since 2023, while Kyle Kirkwood's fifth-place finish kept him atop the championship standings.
