Pedro Acosta Warns MotoGP’s Packed Schedule Could Shorten Rider Careers

Pedro Acosta, the factory KTM rider, warned that MotoGP's current packed calendar and three-day race weekends will shorten riders' careers.

In a media briefing ahead of the United States Grand Prix, Pedro Acosta said more two-week intervals between rounds "is a good idea" and that the 22 intense race weekends leave no low-pressure time to ride and recover.

Pedro Acosta added that while he supports sprint races and shorter qualifying and practice, the cumulative daily risk on every weekend raises the likelihood of serious injury.

With the Qatar Grand Prix postponed, MotoGP will move to Europe next, with the Spanish Grand Prix scheduled for 24-26 April.
