Scout Motors’ Traveler SUV Delayed to 2028, Terra Truck Pushed to 2030

AutoForecast Solutions reports that Scout Motors’ Traveler SUV production has been delayed to 2028 and the Terra pickup is now expected to begin production in March 2030. These dates represent significant pushes from Scout Motors’ earlier targets.

Scout Motors’ consumer website still lists both models targeting 2027 production, and Motor1 contacted Scout for confirmation. Der Spiegel previously reported technical problems, and staff member Jamie Vondruska posted on Scout’s official forum saying the company is making "good progress."

Scout Motors plans to launch extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions first, pairing a small four-cylinder engine with a battery pack; Scout said EREV models will offer more than 500 miles combined range while pure EVs are expected up to 350 miles.

Both vehicles were originally expected to start under $60,000 with a $100 refundable reservation, but Scout Motors’ potential delays leave pricing and timelines uncertain.
