Slate Confirms Manual Crank Windows for 2027 Slate Truck

Slate confirmed at a New York product preview that the 2027 Slate Truck will use manual crank windows, and Aaron Gould, Slate's head of interior design, said the feature was planned "from the very beginning."

Gould said the crank is intended as a tactile, primary interaction point and that Slate's designers worked to make the mechanism "feel great" in the hand; manual windows now set the Slate Truck apart as new U.S. passenger vehicles no longer include them after the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator phased them out.

Gould added that Slate is focused on the crank for production but is considering an electric-window option as an accessory in the future, and the company said customers would not be required to take the electric option.
