Subaru will introduce the 2027 Forester Wilderness Hybrid, combining a 2.5‑liter flat-four, a lithium‑ion battery and electric motors to produce 194 horsepower and improve fuel economy by up to 25%.
The Wilderness edition keeps its off‑road focus with 9.3 inches of ground clearance, a retuned suspension and all‑terrain tires. Subaru retains its X‑Mode traction system and hallmark all‑wheel drive, and adds more sound deadening and body adhesive for durability.
Inside and on the equipment list, the Forester Wilderness Hybrid features 17‑inch matte‑black wheels, roof rails, synthetic‑leather upholstery, an 11.6‑inch touchscreen, a 12.3‑inch digital cluster with Apple Maps and a 576‑watt Harman Kardon audio system. Pricing is unconfirmed, and Subaru says the new hybrid arrives late in 2026 with final EPA fuel‑economy figures expected closer to launch.
