TikTok creator Lauren, who posts as @laurenmarymoore, says she was billed for multiple toll and congestion charges by Hertz months after returning a rental and has had difficulty obtaining refunds.
Lauren says she rented a car in New York City for a trip to Virginia, added a toll pass at checkout and returned the vehicle without issue, but about a week later she was billed $85 for tolls. Hertz directed her to a third-party billing company, which she says promised a partial reimbursement she did not receive, and she reports additional $11 and $23 congestion fees and other attempted charges.
Her TikTok video has drawn more than 6,545 views and includes her urging others to avoid Hertz; commenters suggested the toll device or third-party billing processes may explain the charges.
