Kimmy, TikTok creator @petalandpawttery, says she found live cockroaches in a 2021 Gold-Certified Toyota Corolla she purchased and that the dealership refused to arrange professional pest treatment.
In a TikTok video viewed over 91,600 times, Kimmy films roaches in the glove compartment and recounts being told by dealership staff that the infestation could have occurred after she drove the car from the lot. She says the dealership had detailed the vehicle twice before sale.
Toyota’s website describes Gold-Certified cars as receiving a 106-point Quality Assurance Inspection and a free Carfax report. Commenters recommended Kimmy contact Toyota consumer affairs after suggesting dealership management would not commit to third-party pest remediation.
Kimmy says she felt a roach crawl on her leg while driving. She says dealership managers passed her between staff and would not agree to third-party treatment.
