Ford has introduced the Transit City, a stripped-back electric van for city use built on a JMC EV platform and produced at JMC’s Nanchang plant.
The Transit City offers three body types — short-wheelbase low-roof, medium-wheelbase flatbed or chassis cab — and is powered by a 148bhp front motor with a 56kWh LFP battery, delivering up to 158 miles in the most efficient SWB model and 87kW charging (31 miles in 10 minutes).
Pared-back fleet equipment includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen, manual air conditioning, heated driver seat, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and rear-view camera, with prices near the £27,000 E‑Transit Courier starting point; order books open later this month and UK deliveries begin late year.
