Volkswagen Id.3 Neo EV Previews Fixes That May Shape a Future North American Id.4

Volkswagen’s ID.3 Neo debuts a suite of practical updates — including vehicle-to-load support, improved range, faster DC charging and restored physical controls — that offer a preview of features Volkswagen has said it plans for a future ID.4 in North America.

The ID.3 Neo’s efficiency upgrades raise WLTP range by 12.7 percent to 391 miles and increase peak DC fast-charging from 175 kW to 183 kW on models with the 79 kWh battery pack.

Volkswagen also added vehicle-to-load capability to run appliances and replaced touch-only controls with conventional physical switches for windows and climate, while the exterior gains a prominent front light bar and a wider lower grille.

Volkswagen recently announced the ID.4 will no longer be built in America, noting inventory is expected to last into 2027, and said a future version of the ID.4 is planned for the North American market with details to follow.
