2021 Toyota Corolla Sold as Gold-Certified Allegedly Infested with Cockroaches, TikTok Buyer Says

TikTok creator Kimmy (username @petalandpawttery) says a 2021 Gold-Certified Toyota Corolla she purchased in Florida was infested with live cockroaches, which she discovered after driving the car home.

In a video viewed over 91,600 times, Kimmy shows roaches in the glove compartment and says she notified the dealership immediately but was passed between managers and denied third-party pest treatment or detailing; she did not identify the dealership.

Toyota's website states Gold-Certified vehicles receive a 106-point Quality Assurance Inspection and a free Carfax report, and Kimmy says the car had been detailed twice before sale, which commenters noted should have revealed the infestation.

Commenters urged Kimmy to contact Toyota consumer affairs and corporate channels because dealerships are often independently owned, while others offered advice about remediation and consumer rights.
