Nissan Juke EV Unveiled, Third‑Generation Crossover to Be Built in Sunderland

Nissan unveiled the third‑generation Juke as an all‑electric SUV at its Vision Event in Japan; the CMF‑EV model will be built alongside the Leaf at the Sunderland factory and sold alongside an updated hybrid second‑generation Juke.

The new Juke sits on Nissan’s CMF‑EV platform, shares much of its underpinnings with the Leaf and adopts a reimagined, heavily sculpted exterior previewed by the Hyper Punk concept, with distinct front and rear light signatures.

Clíodhna Lyons, regional product boss, said the Juke’s bold design will help Nissan reach new customers, while Massimiliano Messina, Nissan Europe boss, said offering both electric and hybrid powertrains gives buyers greater choice and supports the transition to zero‑emission mobility.

Build trials at Sunderland will begin in the coming weeks ahead of full production in early 2027, with sales to follow; Nissan said the car was designed, engineered and developed in the UK, Spain and Germany, and Nissan Europe’s R&D boss David Moss has suggested a bespoke chassis could differentiate the Juke from the Leaf.
