Sublime Energie Opens “Charlie” Demonstrator to Liquefy Farm Biogas Into bioLNG

Sublime Energie inaugurated its "Charlie" demonstrator plant in Plélo, Brittany, on April 14 to liquefy biogas directly on farms and produce bioLNG and bioCO2 without relying on gas‑grid infrastructure.

The startup uses a decentralized collection model inspired by traditional milk hauling to densify on‑site biogas, converting biomethane into bioLNG for heavy‑duty mobility while supplying bioCO2 as a fossil‑free industrial and agricultural input.

Sublime Energie was founded in 2019 to commercialize technology from research institute Mines Paris PSL, and its proprietary "carrier agent" solvent enables on‑farm liquefaction of biogas.

With the Charlie demonstrator, Sublime Energie aims to scale a decentralized model to unlock biogas value across smaller farms that previously lacked access to liquefaction infrastructure.
