Alex Marquez to Join Factory KTM in 2027 as MotoGP Deals Await MSMA-MGPSEG Framework

Many MotoGP rider deals for 2027 have been agreed but await ratification after the manufacturers' association MSMA and MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group (MGPSEG) finalize a five-year commercial framework, and Alex Marquez, the 2025 world championship runner-up, is set to move to a factory KTM ride after four seasons with Ducati.

Alex Marquez earned three wins in 2025 and was promoted by Ducati into a factory development role, receiving the latest Desmosedici GP26 specification and becoming a key contributor to the bike's evolution.

Ducati has started the season behind Aprilia, which has won the opening three rounds with Marco Bezzecchi, an Aprilia rider, leaving Ducati to continue leveraging Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia, a Ducati rider who is set to join Aprilia next season.

Marquez told Motorsport that Aprilia is currently performing better and that Ducati has not altered its approach despite transfer rumours, with manufacturers continuing to work with contracted riders through the season.
