Karun Chandhok, former Formula 1 driver and Sky Sports analyst, urged Red Bull to make a "big name" signing after Gianpiero Lambiase announced his exit.
Gianpiero Lambiase, Max Verstappen's race engineer, has told Red Bull he will move to McLaren as chief racing officer by 2028.
Chandhok said on the Sky Sports F1 Show that Red Bull risks losing more staff because high-profile hires can pull entire engineering groups to rival teams. He cited Adrian Newey and Ross Brawn as past examples of leaders who brought personnel with them.
Red Bull sits sixth in the constructors' standings with 16 points after the first three rounds, and Chandhok said a headline signing could help prevent departures and attract talent from teams such as Mercedes.
