The Los Angeles Police Department said officers found a heavily stripped Porsche 911 (992) cabriolet on the side of a road, missing its engine, transmission, wheels, bumpers, lights and interior.
Photos posted by the LAPD show the VIN-bearing unibody with nearly every removable component removed, leaving the shell and exposed bodywork. Nearly every exterior and mechanical component, including bumpers, lights, the engine, the transaxle and all wheels, was removed.
Images appear to show the engine wiring harness is gone while much of the body wiring, a fuse box in the driver's footwell and several connectors remain intact, visible in photos of the Porsche 992.
The LAPD said detectives are investigating and the department has notified the vehicle's owner; the department shared the image on its Facebook page.
