Reports from Sportscar365 and Racer say Acura is evaluating its factory ARX-06 GTP program and may move on from its current operation with Meyer Shank Racing after the 2026 season. Sportscar365 reported an internal decision was made weeks ago, while Racer said Acura is reviewing plans that could include shutting the factory effort.
Those reports add that a customer program using the ARX-06 has not been ruled out and that a deal with Inter Europol to race the car in Europe has not come together. The ARX-06 could also be eligible for pro-am entries in the Asian Le Mans Series under Hypercar rules.
HRC US president David Salters told Road & Track he had read the coverage but did not vouch for it and referred to an HRC US statement. The statement said Acura and HRC US are focused on the 2026 IMSA season, continuing two ARX-06 entries with Meyer Shank Racing, and that 2027 plans are being finalized.
