Acura has not decided whether it will continue its IMSA GTP ARX-6 program in 2027, saying "We've made no decisions about our 2027 program," Racer Magazine reported.
At the Long Beach Grand Prix, an Acura representative declined to confirm paddock rumors that the company is pulling out, referring to the matter as a "definite pause."
The GTP-class Acura ARX-6 has earned seven wins and ten additional podiums with Meyer Shank Racing and Wayne Taylor Racing since its 2023 debut, though Acura has not won an IMSA title since 2022.
Racer also noted broader economic pressures and that Honda recently wrote off almost its electric vehicle program, and reported a possible scenario in which Acura would partner with another team to help fund and develop a 2027 return.
