Ghosted (@j_ahimedia), an auto enthusiast who flips cars on TikTok, says he drove seven hours to sell a Corvette Z06 in Chicago when the buyer drove off with the car during a test drive, leaving him roughly $70,000 out.
He says the meeting was at a bank, the buyer showed a small bag of cash, asked to test-drive the Corvette Z06, then fled after they stopped to inspect the engine; police responded but the car was gone.
Ghosted says he bought the car for $50,000, listed it for $60,000 and expected a $10,000 profit but now has no car, no insurance payout, and no leads. He also reports learning from a friend and a Facebook Marketplace review that the same buyer appears to have tried similar scams.
