Ferrari Says WEC BoP Secrecy Will Strip Key Race Narrative Ahead of 2026 Season

The World Endurance Championship will stop publishing Balance of Performance figures in 2026, a change Ferrari says will remove a key element of the race narrative.

Asked about the move, Antonello Coletta, Ferrari’s head of endurance and customer racing, said teams must follow the rule but that fans and media will miss behind-the-scenes BoP information.

The new WEC season opens in Italy this weekend after the Qatar 1812km round was postponed, and reigning champion Ferrari arrives with an updated 499P featuring revised aerodynamics and new Michelin tyres.

Ferrari topped Prologue timing sheets, though Coletta noted times were affected by variable runs and potential sandbagging, and he urged calm as the field re-homologates and performance gaps remain unclear.
