Porsche 911 GT3 RS with Manthey Kit Posts 6:45.389 Nürburgring Nordschleife Lap

Porsche’s 911 GT3 RS fitted with the Manthey Kit recorded a 6:45.389 lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife with driver Jörg Bergmeister at the wheel.

The time is quicker than the Corvette ZR1X but slower than the Ford Mustang GTD Competition’s 6:40.835, and it improves on the standard 911 GT3’s 6:49.328.

Manthey, the Porsche-owned, Nürburgring-based racing firm, says the kit adds aerodynamic and suspension upgrades including a large wing, roof fins, a larger front splitter, dive planes, larger diffuser strakes, new coilovers with stiffer springs, adaptive dampers and braided brake lines, increasing downforce by 20 percent to 2,200 pounds at 177 mph.

The Manthey Kit carries a $116,160 price tag in addition to the 911 GT3 RS’s $244,995 starting price, placing Porsche among recent Nürburgring performance contenders from Ford and Chevrolet.
