Hyundai Ioniq 3 EV Hatchback Debuts in Europe with Pleos Connect Infotainment

Hyundai has unveiled the Ioniq 3, an electric compact hatchback for Europe that debuts the automaker’s Pleos Connect infotainment system.

The Ioniq 3 rides on Hyundai’s E‑GMP 400‑volt architecture with a single front motor; the Standard Range uses a 42.2‑kWh battery for up to 213 miles WLTP and 147 hp while the long‑range 61.0‑kWh model is rated for up to 308 miles WLTP and 135 hp, with Hyundai listing 0–62 mph times of 9.0 and 9.6 seconds and a 105 mph top speed.

Hyundai applies its Art of Steel design to the 163.6‑inch Ioniq 3, which has a 0.263 drag coefficient and is 15.3 inches shorter than the Genesis GV60; Pleos Connect runs Android Automotive OS on 12.9‑ or 14.6‑inch screens and the cabin keeps a row of physical climate and seat controls.

Hyundai says cargo volume is 15.6 cubic feet including a 4.2‑cu‑ft Megabox, and available features include a Bose audio system, dual‑zone climate and LED ambient lighting; Motor1 said the Ioniq 3 will not be sold in the United States while a Kia counterpart could appear with similar specs and reduced range.
