Mansell Tells Mercedes’ George Russell to “Stamp the Authority” After Kimi Antonelli Leads Standings

1992 Formula 1 champion Nigel Mansell has urged Mercedes driver George Russell to "stamp the authority" at Mercedes after Russell's team-mate Kimi Antonelli took the lead of the drivers' standings, Mansell told Sky Sports F1.

Mansell drew on his 1992 title fight with Williams team-mate Riccardo Patrese, recalling that swapping qualifying cars showed how quickly performance differences could appear.

Mansell said sometimes luck affects results and that George Russell must lead "by incredible focus," while praising Kimi Antonelli's early season form and calling the championship exciting.

Formula 1 teams will head to the Miami Grand Prix from May 1-3 as the championship continues.
