Mercedes‑Benz EQS 2026 Gains 575‑Mile Range and 800V, 350kW Charging

Mercedes‑Benz has updated the 2026 EQS with a larger 122kWh battery and efficiency improvements that lift the rear‑drive EQS 450+ range to 575 miles and the dual‑motor model to 544 miles.

The EQS moves from a 400V to an 800V electrical architecture, raising maximum charging to 350kW while keeping 400V compatibility via virtual dual‑bank 175kW charging.

Mercedes‑Benz says the new motors are more compact and efficient and can recuperate up to 385kW; an optional steer‑by‑wire system with a yoke reduces lock‑to‑lock to 270°.

The update also adds cloud‑aware Airmatic suspension, wider but more efficient headlights, an automatic reversing function, heated seatbelts to 44°C and resculpted aerodynamics, with customer deliveries due in the second half of the year and prices expected to rise slightly from around £100,000.
