Nissan Teases New Skyline Sedan as Performance “Heartbeat” Model

Nissan released teaser photos and an eight-second video confirming a new Skyline sedan is in development for the Japanese market.

The teaser shows close-up shots of the nose and rear quarter and a shadowed silhouette beside a late-1960s Skyline, and Nissan described the car as "A Heartbeat model for Japan, delivering performance, precision and driver-focused character."

Nissan provided no technical specifications or launch timing; the current V37 Skyline dates to 2014 and is now 12 years old. Nissan's broader press release also outlined Infiniti plans including a "performance-oriented V6 sedan," and observers have suggested the new Skyline could correspond to that model, though Nissan has not confirmed any such link.

Nissan has left powertrain, transmission and any U.S. availability unconfirmed for the new Skyline.
