Porsche 911 GT3 S/c Debuts as Sport Cabriolet with 503-HP 4.0l Flat-Six

Porsche announced the 911 GT3 S/C, a Sport Cabriolet convertible that pairs the GT3's 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six and six-speed manual transmission with many lightweight components from the S/T.

The 4.0-liter flat-six makes 503 horsepower and drives the rear wheels via a close-ratio six-speed manual and shorter final drive from the S/T. Carbon-fiber hood, fenders, doors, anti-roll bars, shear plate, carbon-ceramic brakes and 20-inch front/21-inch rear magnesium wheels are carried over, while a fully automatic soft top and magnesium elements in its skeleton help keep curb weight at 3,300 pounds, about 30 pounds heavier than the comparable fixed-roof GT3 Touring.

The GT3 S/C uses the GT3 and S/T double-wishbone front suspension instead of the standard 911 convertible’s MacPherson strut setup. The model replaces the 911 Speedster in Porsche’s lineup, and Porsche has not previously offered a drop-top GT3 in its 27-year history.
