Racing Bulls to Introduce Major Upgrades as Alpine’s 2026 Pace Impresses

Racing Bulls principal Alan Permane said the team will bring major upgrades at the Miami and Montreal rounds to close a performance gap while acknowledging Alpine's strong 2026 form.

Permane noted Alpine concentrated resources on its 2026 car after largely halting 2025 development and has climbed from last in 2025 to fifth in the current standings. Driver Pierre Gasly qualified seventh in China and Japan and finished sixth and seventh, contributing 16 points early in the season.

Racing Bulls has shown mixed qualifying form—fifth in Melbourne, eighth in Shanghai and seventh at Suzuka—and drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad, Racing Bulls drivers, have combined for 14 points. Permane said the team developed late last year and needs more aerodynamic load, which the upgrades aim to provide.

After April’s Middle Eastern rounds were cancelled due to the Iran war, Permane said Racing Bulls will introduce a major package in Miami, replace it in Montreal and follow with smaller updates to target the midfield.
