Tesla Model S and Model X to Get 350-Unit “Signature Series” Garnet Red Sendoff

Tesla plans to end Model S and Model X production with a limited "Signature Series" run of 350 vehicles, according to posts by Ryan McCaffrey, senior executive editor at IGN and host of the Ride the Lightning podcast, and reports from Tesla insiders.

McCaffrey said 250 of the 350 units will be Model S Signature editions and the remainder Model X, and that purchasing one will likely require an email invitation.

The Signature Series details reported by McCaffrey include Garnet Red paint, gold Tesla "T" and Plaid badging, black mirror caps, and different door-handle treatments for the Model S and Model X.

Reported mechanical and interior touches include carbon-ceramic brakes with gold calipers on the Model S, 21‑inch and 22‑inch wheels respectively, white Alcantara upholstery with gold Plaid seat badges, a six-seat Model X layout and a numbered Signature dash badge.
